Maranatha Baptist Academy Earns NCA CASI Accreditation

WATERTOWN, Wisc. – Administrator Dr. Lane Hansel announced today that Maranatha Baptist Academy earned accreditation from the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), an accreditation division of AdvancED. This action was taken at the AdvancED Accreditation Commission meeting held in Alpharetta, GA, in May 2016.

NCA CASI provides nationally recognized accreditation, the purpose of which is continuous school improvement focused on increasing student performance. To earn accreditation, schools must meet NCA CASI’s high standards, be evaluated by a team of professionals from outside the school, and implement a continuous process of school improvement.

“Accreditation validates our teachers’ proficiency and the success of our entire program,” stated Hansel. “For us, it affirms we are accomplishing our mission and fulfilling our purpose. It also allows us to attract motivated students to our school and enhance our excellent standing in Watertown.”

NCA CASI accreditation is recognized across state lines, which not only eases the transfer process as students move from accredited school to accredited school but also assures parents that the school is meeting nationally accepted standards for quality and successful professional practice.

For Maranatha Baptist Academy, accreditation opens new avenues of service and opportunity.

“By applying the same technology utilized in Maranatha Baptist University’s Online and Distance Learning program, we can now provide accredited academic instruction to likeminded high schools and home schools in any community,” Hansel shared. “Our goals include initiating a pilot program in the fall of 2017, which would open our classrooms virtually to students located anywhere in the world. We’re excited to expand our reach and share our expertise with those who desire a Christian high school education.”

Dr. Mark Elgart, President/CEO of AdvancED, the parent organization of NCA CASI, stated, “NCA CASI Accreditation is a rigorous process that focuses the entire school on the primary goal of creating lifelong learners. Maranatha Baptist Academy is to be commended for engaging in this process and demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.”
